What Is the
Wild Acorns Co-op?
The Wild Acorns Homeschool Co-op is a nature-based, community-focused pilot program for children ages 3 to 6. This invite-only opportunity welcomes 5 new families to join a learning community alongside 5 current preschool families.
Our co-op gathers twice a week—Mondays and Thursdays from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM—for hands-on learning, outdoor exploration, music, art, sensory play, and seasonal celebrations. You are not required to attend both days, but we ask that families commit to joining at least once a week to help nurture the community aspect of the program.
The co-op runs alongside our existing preschool program, where 5 children are dropped off with the teacher (Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM). While only Mondays and Thursdays overlap, all seasonal celebrations and special events are shared with the entire school and their families, creating a chance for all families to become part of a community environment.
Past families often say the strong sense of community is their favorite part of the Wild Acorns experience!

Parent Participation
This is a true co-op, and parent involvement is key to the magical moments we create together.
Families are asked to:
Join 2 event committees to help with planning and simple legwork (e.g., Thanksgiving & St. Patrick’s Day, or Easter & St. Martinmas)
Help with clean-up duties at the end of each session so the school is tidy for the next day
Be "all hands on deck" for major events like the Jingle Jams Christmas Musical
Cost & Philosophy
Our suggested donation is $10 per attended session, including evening special events.
However, cost will never be a barrier to participation. If you were invited, we want you here!
We offer full or reduced-cost spots to families who need them — no questions asked. The set-up, tear-down, and behind the scenes process is large for an outdoor school- so there are many ways to give back!
Our selection process is based on family compatibility and community heart, not financial means.
Younger Siblings
Children under age 3 are welcome to attend with a sibling aged 3-6, but please note:
They must be closely supervised by a parent or guardian
Some materials and activities are not toddler-safe
The focus of the program is on ages 3–6, and we want to preserve the experience for that group
