Wild Acorns Homeschool Co-op Pilot Program
For the 2025–2026 School Year
Invite-Only | Ages 6 & Under (geared towards age 3-6) | Mondays & Thursdays | 9:30 AM–12:00 PM
What Is the Wild Acorns Co-op?
The Wild Acorns Homeschool Co-op is a nature-inspired, community-supported pilot program designed for young children ages 3 to 6. This is an invite-only opportunity for 6 new families to join the 6 families already participating in our preschool, creating a small, connected learning community.
We gather twice a week — on Mondays and Thursdays from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM — for hands-on learning, outdoor exploration, music, art, and seasonal celebrations rooted in rhythm and relationship. You do NOT need to attend both sessions, but request you try to attend once a week to build the community.
What’s Included
Every school day includes:
Outdoor free play and social learning
Music time and movement (weather permitting)
Hands-on chicken care experience
Art projects done outdoors and nature inspired
Sensory bins by theme
Montessori-inspired learning stations
Storytelling, topic studies, and shared snack time
Indoor free play and collaborative cleanup
A warm and cheerful community
Plus, enjoy seasonal celebrations and field trips, such as:
Pumpkin Patch Visit
Jingle Jams Christmas Musical
St. Martinmas Lantern Festival
Strawberry Field Trip
Sausages & S’mores Potluck at the Firepit
Valentine’s Day Party, Easter & St. Patrick’s Celebrations, Thanksgiving event, and more!
All art materials, music instruments, and celebration supplies are provided.
Parent Participation
This is a true co-op, and parent involvement is key to the magic we create. Families are asked to:
Join 2 event committees (e.g., Thanksgiving & St. Patrick’s Day, or Easter & St. Martinmas)
Help with clean-up duties at the end of each session so the school is ready for the next day
Be "all hands on deck" for major events like the Jingle Jams Christmas Musical
Cost & Philosophy
Our suggested donation is $10 per preschooler per attended session, including field trips and special events.
However, cost will never be a barrier to participation. If you were invited, we want you here.
We offer 3 full or reduced-cost spots to families who need them — no questions asked. The set-up, tear-down, and behind the scenes process is great for an outdoor school- so many ways to give back!
Our selection process is based on family compatibility and community heart, not financial means.
Younger Siblings
Children under age 3 are welcome to attend with an older sibling, but please note:
They must be closely supervised by a parent or guardian
Some materials and activities are not toddler-safe
The focus of the program is on ages 3–6, and we want to preserve the experience for that group
